DHAKA, BANGLADESH – NOVEMBER 9, 2021 Seven-year-old Zihad Hossain died after a concrete wall collapsed on him while he was on his way to school with his father, Nadir Hossain.
The accident occurred near Azimpur Government Officers’ Quarter. Zihad, who was in first grade, suffered critical injuries when the wall collapsed. Local residents pulled him out and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His father suffered a minor leg injury.
According to local residents, the wall had been in poor condition for a long time. Following the tragedy, questions arose as to whether negligence by the responsible authorities contributed to its collapse.
