CHIMALTENANGO, GUATEMALA – AUGUST, 2025 Passersby were shocked when they saw a pack of stray dogs carrying a human arm. At first glance, it seemed to be a woman’s because of the painted nails. They alerted the police, and an extensive search of the area was launched.
At the bottom of a nearby ravine, 720 feet (220 meters) deep, the rest of her body was found – but in a much worse state than the arm. Wild animals had already gnawed at it, and the last remaining pieces of tissue were beginning to rot and smell.
Forensic experts are currently working on identifying the victim. The only certainty is that she was murdered. Ropes were also found at the scene, used to tie her up before someone threw her into the ravine.
