The child was born with a diagnosis of “Alobar Holoprocencephaly”. This is a mutation in which the brain has not fully divided into two separate hemispheres. This results in a facial mutation. Children with this dignosis are most often stillborn. Those that survive live a maximum of two hours after birth.
