NIGERIA Footage shows a victim of Nigeria’s gang wars. He was apparently shot in the head by an enemy. No further information is available.
The current situation in Nigeria is unfortunately unfavorable. An estimated more than 30,000 bandits operate in the country, organized into groups and gangs of varying sizes. The year 2025 has brought a significant escalation of violence related to power struggles, territorial control, and illegal markets.
In addition to bandits, cult groups are active in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos, Rivers, and Edo states. These cults engage in violent clashes with each other and with other criminal organizations. Between 2020 and 2025, over 900 incidents of violence linked to these groups were recorded.
The Nigerian government is attempting to address the problem and conducts military operations against these groups. Despite these efforts, the trend of violence is expected to continue rising in 2026.
