CAGAY, MASBATE, PHILIPPINES – FEBRUARY, 2017 On February 15, 2017, 17-year-old Mariah Aira Dalanon Poe was reported missing to police by her mother when she did not return home from school. The search didn’t take long but unfortunately brought a sad end. Her dead body was found in the mud at the edge of the river.
Her maternal uncle, Amador Cos Dalanon, 32, was arrested in connection with her murder. A witness identified him as having seen him with the victim at the time of her disappearance.
Cos Dalanon confessed to the murder after some time of police questioning. He stated that he tricked the victim into going to a remote location with him. There he murdered her and raped her posthumously.
