NIGERIA Being a truck driver in Nigeria is definitely not an easy job. Armed groups such as Boko Haram and its offshoot ISWAP are operating in some areas of the country, particularly in the north-east and some of the north-western regions, carrying out attacks, kidnappings and acts of terrorism. In addition, bandits and criminal groups are operating in the north-west. These areas are outside the full control of the government and the population faces daily security threats.
This man in the video was attacked by bandits armed with machetes during his truck journey. He had to hand over all his valuables and let them inside his truck. When he tried to resist, they attacked him. He was very lucky to survive.
