PRAINHA, PARÁ, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY, 2023 When the man, Rick Casali, caught his wife, Jamily Santos da Costa, having sex with another guy, he got insane. He physically attacked her and even threatened her with a shotgun. That’s when Jamily became afraid for her life and started recording it on her phone. She told him she was live streaming the whole situation online and thought it would deter him from doing something stupid. It didn’t.

The video shows him punching her several times. All the while repeating to himself that he should be rational. But at that point, he points a shotgun at his wife and fires.
Jamily was hit in the chest. She was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, where she lost her fight for life later that day.
Rick Casali was charged with murder, for which he faces up to 30 years in prison under Brazilian law. What sentence he received from the court has not been made public. Large demonstrations were held in support of Jamila and violence against women.
