Woman shot twice during robbery as she was leaving bank

HUANCAYO, PERU – JULY 9, 2024 Group of armed robbers were lying in wait outside a bank branch for someone making a large cash withdrawal. An unfortunate elderly woman, who had just withdrawn 50,000 PEN (approximately 15,000 USD), became their target. As she exited the bank, the robbers attacked her, shooting her twice to force her to release her purse containing the money. The incident took place on Calle Real in the El Tambo district. No updates on the victim’s condition are currently available.
