ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA – MAY 29, 2021 Kelsey Salmon, who was celebrating her 23rd birthday, wanted to look good for her celebration and get her lashes extended. Unfortunately, the salon she regularly went to was fully booked with other clients, so she had to find a new lash stylist to extend her lashes.

After a short search, she came across a woman on Instagram who ran a lash extension salon at her home and had an available appointment. In addition, she also had a small chihuahua at home. When Kelsey visited her and lay on the massage table, the chihuahua seemed to be very friendly. She even leaned over and petted it. But suddenly, the chihuahua attacked. It jumped up, bit Kelsey in the face, and tore off her entire left eyelid.
Kelsey was taken to Kennestone Hospital after the attack, where she spent about 15 hours in the emergency room before being transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital. There, during a two-hour surgery, two surgeons reattached her eyelid.
The whole story has a happy ending because her eyelid, despite initial concerns, started healing well. Kelsey fully realized how close she was to a real tragedy if that chihuahua had bitten her directly in the eye. She might never have been able to see again.
When Kelsey shared her story on the social media platform TikTok, it gained millions of views and mental support from many users. She mentioned that the lash stylist blocked her everywhere and didn’t even apologize. She is now considering filing a criminal report, where she would ask for reimbursement of her treatment costs. The total cost had reached up to 30 thousand dollars. She also mentioned that she has been much more cautious around strangers’ dogs since the incident, even though she loves dogs herself.
