AGRA, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA – APRIL 1, 2025 Shakti Singh, 31, has been accused of the gruesome murder of his wife, Shivani, 26. The police report states that he slit her throat and cut her wrist during an argument. He then hid her body for three days in her house where the incident took place before fleeing from there. It is believed that he fled because of the unbearable smell of the decomposing body.

Shivani was last seen alive by their neighbours on 29 March 2025. Her dead body was discovered on 1 April 2025 by her sister Gita. She got worried about her sister when she did not answer her phone, so she came to check on her. Smelling the foul smell of death, she alerted the police and forced her way into the house.
Neighbours described Shakti Singh as a classic drunkard with erratic behaviour. They said they often heard arguments from their house and it was clear to all that there was physical domestic violence.
