KAGADI, UGANDA – FEBRUARY 26, 2024 A 38 year old Kagadi County government employee, Steven Tibihikira, hit 25 year old Thuais Magenzi with his company car. He died on the spot. Thuaise had just participated in a demonstration for an asphalt road exhibition.
The government’s response to the incident was to arrest 12 demonstrators. The driver of the vehicle went unpunished. He said he was just doing his job.
