SAHARANPUR, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA – MAY 23, 2024 A 22-year-old student, Manvi Tomar, was found dead with her throat slit in an abandoned plot. Her cousin testified that he took her to the bus station where he dropped her off around 8 am. She was found at around 10 am.

The police investigation was focused those two hours and they began to search the city’s CCTV footage. They had success. In one recording, they managed to identify Manvi arguing with some man.
It didn’t take long to identify him as Sagar. He has long harassed and stalked Manvi. Her family has strongly urged him to stop many times. Manvi dated him at first, but decided to start ignoring him when she found out he had a wife.
A forensic autopsy confirmed that she was brutally beaten before her throat was slit.
